Synopsis of Cuando desapareció el mar

«Cuando desapareció el mar» is the children's picture book by Francisco Sánchez, published by Editorial Juventud in hardcover (40 pages, in Spanish).

Alexandre comes across boats stranded in the middle of the desert and asks his father why they are there. His father tells him that that place was once a huge sea that fishermen lived from, until some machines diverted its waters and left the land dry. Faced with the ecological disaster, Alexandre sets out to find a way to bring back the Aral Sea.

Published in 2013. The illustrations are by Bàrbara Sansó. The book belongs to the Illustrated Albums collection.
