«Cuentos por palabras» is the book of fantastic short stories by Agustín Fernández Paz, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
The protagonist reads the newspaper's personal ads and with each one is drawn into adventures where the fantastic creeps into ordinary life. These are ten stories about ordinary and not-so-ordinary people, written with careful prose and an optimistic tone, playing with the boundary between reality and fantasy.
Edition published in March 2005; it belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection (number 108) and is the Spanish version of the original Galician work «Contos por palabras».
Recommended for readers aged 12 and up, especially for those who enjoy fantastic stories close to everyday life.
Spanish writer (1947–2016)
