«Daisy Fay y el hombre de los milagros» is the novel by Fannie Flagg, published by Ediciones B in hardcover (430 pages, in Spanish).
Daisy Fay, an eleven-year-old girl in Mississippi, writes her diary from 1952 to 1959: school, friends, family, and the movies. Her father, a dreamer and a drinker, takes the family to the coast to open a brewery that fails. Her imagination turns the mediocre into adventures; her voice is the disarming sincerity of childhood.
First edition 1993, translated by Víctor Pozano; the original work, 'Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man', is from 1981. Fannie Flagg is also the author of 'Tomates verdes fritos'.
For readers of contemporary fiction who enjoy coming-of-age stories and humor, and fans of Fannie Flagg and 'Tomates verdes fritos'.
