«Dante's Peak» is the adventure novel by Dewey Gram, published by Penguin in paperback (48 pages, in English).
Harry Dalton, a volcanologist, arrives in the town of Dante's Peak, in Washington state, to investigate possible unusual seismic activity. Although the authorities do not want to raise the alarm, Harry finds increasingly disturbing signs: the volcano that dominates the town seems ready to wake up and no one knows how to stop it.
It is a novelization of the movie of the same name, with a screenplay by Leslie Bohem, and is part of the Penguin Readers (Graded Readers) series, level 2.
Intended for students of English as a second language and for young readers from about 12 years old.
