«Dédalo e Ícaro: El rey Midas» is the children's mythology book by Geraldine McCaughrean, published by Ediciones SM in hardcover (50 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together two Greek myths about unbridled ambition. Daedalus builds wings to escape Crete with his son Icarus, but the boy ignores the warning not to fly close to the sun and the wax melts. King Midas asks that everything he touches turn to gold and finds that the wish turns against him.
Ediciones SM published the book in 2001 in the Mitos collection. Tony Ross provides the illustrations and Paz Barroso the translation.
Recommended for child readers aged 7 to 9, especially those approaching Greek mythology and adventure stories.
