«Desaparecidos» is Rafael Torres's monograph on the disappearances during the Spanish Civil War, published by RBA in hardcover (251 pages, in Spanish).
Rafael Torres investigates how thousands of Spaniards disappeared during the Civil War and the postwar period: children lost in evacuations and bombings, victims of repression, and people buried in mass graves. Through testimonies and documents, he reconstructs the trail of those erased from collective memory and the suffering of their families, who waited without news until the end.
Work belonging to the Testimonios de la Guerra Civil collection. Includes plates with black-and-white photographs.
For readers interested in historical memory and the Spanish Civil War, especially scholars of repression and the fate of the disappeared.
