«Desde el mirador» is the novel by Clara Sánchez, published by Alfaguara in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
A forty-year-old woman finds herself a spectator of her own life from the hospital where her mother is admitted. Her husband Mario and her friend Cati, by contrast, give themselves over to events. That contrast leads her to acknowledge her doubts, contradictions and failures until she accepts herself and wants to live fully.
The novel belongs to Alfaguara's Hispánica collection, was originally published in 1996, and this edition is in paperback without flaps.
For readers of contemporary fiction seeking intimate novels about inner reflection and self-acceptance.
