«DesGlaç» is the novel by Ilija Trojanow, published by Rayo Verde Editorial in paperback (176 pages, in Catalan).
Zeno Hintermeier experiences the loss of his glacier as his own and leaves his professorship to guide cruises to Antarctica, where he hopes to find authentic silence. Even among nature lovers he finds no one who feels its intensity: guides, journalists and passengers sleep without nightmares and return to their routine. Perhaps a more radical action is needed.
Third volume of the Raigs Globulars collection. Translation by Lidia Álvarez Grifoll, foreword by Jorge Riechmann and illustration by Elena Macías. Original work in German: «EisTau».
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in climate change; recommended age from 13 years.
Ilija Trojanow, also transliterated as Ilya Troyanov, is a Bulgarian-German writer, translator and publisher.
