The 'Diary 1944-1947' by Anaïs Nin is an autobiographical work that offers an intimate view of the author's life and thoughts during that period. This volume, the fourth in her series of diaries, reveals her reflections on art, love, personal relationships, and her search for identity. Nin explores her experiences and emotions with an honesty and depth that invite reflection on the human condition and the complexity of interpersonal relationships. Published by RM in 1979, this book is a window into the inner world of one of the most influential writers of the 20th century.

Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell was a French-born American diarist, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories and erotica. Born to Cuban parents in France, Nin was the daughter of the composer Joaquín Nin and the classically trained singer Rosa Culmell. Nin spent her early years in Spain and Cuba, about sixteen years in Paris (1924–1940), and the remaining half of her life in the United States, where she became an established author.
