«Diccionario ilustrado BOE-español» is the illustrated dictionary by Eva Belmonte and Mauro Entrialgo (Editorial Ariel, paperback, 208 pages, in Spanish).
The dictionary translates the language of the Official State Gazette into everyday words, with humor and examples of bureaucratic abuses. It explains figures such as the decree-law or the repealing provision, shows how regulations get tangled and how what has been approved is undone. Mauro Entrialgo's cartoons comment on each entry.
The book was published in June 2021 in the Ariel collection. Eva Belmonte directs the Civio Foundation and created El BOE nuestro de cada día; Mauro Entrialgo is an illustrator and graphic humorist.
For readers without legal training who want to understand the announcements and laws of the BOE and, in passing, laugh at the graphic humor.
Mauro Entrialgo Ibarrondo is a Spanish artist who has developed a multifaceted career as an illustrator, musician and mainly cartoonist. Among his most popular characters are Herminio Bolaextra, El Demonio Rojo and Ángel Sefija.
