«Die Clique» is the young adult novel by Brigitte Blobel, published in 2005 by Arena Verlag GmbH in paperback (196 pages, in German).
Lara, expelled from the group, recounts in her diary how she met Carus and Sonja and what it meant to belong to the gang. Shared plans and the feeling of fitting in lead to parties with alcohol and drugs, until the demand to participate marks the line between staying in or being left out.
Suitable for teenagers and young adults, and useful as school reading or for students of German.
