«Dies feliços a la presó» is the novel by Martí Sales, published by Editorial Empúries in paperback (285 pages, in Catalan).
It brings together 64 short texts that work as an ironic manual for young prisoners, a map of escapes, the memoir of a writer who grows up in darkness, and a survival guide. It alternates the story of a happy prisoner in love with his jailer, a punk band crossing Catalonia, and two lovers seeking each other at opposite ends, in a playful exploration of language.
Published in 2007, it is part of the Empúries Narrativa collection. Its ISBN-10 is 8497872452.
For readers of contemporary Catalan fiction interested in fragmentary and heterodox proposals.
