«Difendere il Concilio» is the essay by Luigi Bettazzi and Aldo Maria Valli, published by San Paolo Edizioni in hardcover (170 pages, in Italian).
Monsignor Luigi Bettazzi, a witness to the Second Vatican Council, and Aldo Maria Valli reflect on why the council has not taken root in the consciousness of Catholics. The work addresses the word of God and the renewal of faith, and asks whether the council is perceived today more as a clash between factions than as a deep reflection.
First edition, published on October 1, 2008. It belongs to the «Attualità e storia» collection (no. 91) of San Paolo Edizioni.
Aimed at readers interested in the recent history of the Catholic Church and in the debate on the Second Vatican Council.
