«¿Dónde estás, Ahmed?» is the young adult novel by Manuel Valls, published by Grupo Anaya Publicaciones Generales in paperback, with 200 pages in Spanish.
Claudia looks a lot like a famous German model, and that resemblance means no one values her for herself. Ahmed, a Moroccan boy, arrives in her class and a friendship develops between them: both know the weight of being judged by appearances. The racism of some classmates unleashes envy and hostility that tests their relationship.
The work was published in 2000 and belongs to Anaya's Espacio Abierto collection, where it is number 79.
Novel recommended for young readers aged 12 and up, interested in friendship, racism and multiculturalism in the school environment.
