«Duras: Biographie» is the biography of Marguerite Duras written by Alain Vircondelet, published by Bourin Julliard in paperback (455 pages, in French).
Alain Vircondelet traces the life of Marguerite Duras, from colonial Indochina to postwar France, through the intellectual debates of the 1950s and the left of the 1960s. The author explores the link between life and work and separates the facts from the legend that Duras nurtured in novels such as «El amante» and movies such as «Hiroshima Mon Amour».
First edition published in France in 1991; includes bibliographic references and index.
