«El árbol miedoso» is the children's story by Inmaculada Díaz Benítez, published by Editorial Everest in paperback (48 pages, in Spanish).
Juan plants three trees in his orchard: a peach tree, an apple tree, and a pear tree. While the first two grow without difficulty, the pear tree remains shriveled because it fears the rain, the wind, the sun and, above all, growing. Juan even considers cutting it down, in a story about fear, self-esteem and overcoming.
This title belongs to the Leer es vivir / Teatro collection and is illustrated by Rafael Salmerón.
Recommended for early readers aged 5 to 7, especially in reading and theatrical performance activities.
