«El arquero de porcelana» is the young adult novel by Blanca Álvarez González, published by Editorial Luis Vives (Edelvives) in paperback (178 pages, in Spanish).
Sonia is a teenager from an upper-class background who falls in love with a boy hooked on pills and ends up falling into the same addiction. Gradually she abandons her studies, her health deteriorates, and she drifts away from those around her. The story shows how she idealizes a relationship that in reality destroys her, and addresses dependence, toxic relationships, and the personal cost of drugs.
It belongs to the Alandar collection, volume 95. The first edition was published on September 24, 2007.
Novel recommended for young readers aged 13 and up, especially those interested in realistic stories about social issues and addiction.
