«El baile del elefante: Recuerdos de La India» is a picture book by Theresa Heine with illustrations by Sheila Moxley, in hardcover (44 pages, in Spanish).
Ravi listens fascinated to his grandfather's stories about India: an intense sun, wild winds and torrential rains. Discovering the elephant parade during the Divaali festival, his imagination awakens and he composes his own dance. The book brings the reader closer to Indian culture with descriptions of its life, its animals and its spices.
This is the Spanish edition of the original English album Elephant Dance: Memories of India, published by Intermón Oxfam in 2005.
Aimed at children, it serves to introduce the youngest to Indian culture in a visual and narrative way.
