«El bandolero Hupsika» is a children's and young adult novel by Paul Biegel, published by Alfaguara in paperback (163 pages, in Spanish).
Hupsika is a bandit with a heart of gold: after every heist he returns home and cries repentant before the portrait of his late mother, though he cannot live without his misdeeds. When a rich knight asks him to rescue his daughter Josefina, kidnapped by a cunning rogue, his life takes an unexpected turn.
Work originally published in 1977 under the title "De rover Hoepsika"; this Spanish edition is part of the Alfaguara Juvenil collection (no. 242).
Recommended for children's and young adult readers; combines adventure, fantasy, and a bandit with an unexpectedly golden heart.
Paulus Johannes "Paul" Biegel was a Dutch writer of children's literature.
