El beso de la mujer araña es una novela del autor argentino Manuel Puig, publicada en 1976. La historia se centra en dos hombres encarcelados en una prisión argentina: Valentín, un activista político, y Molina, un homosexual que idealiza a las mujeres a través de las películas que recuerda y narra. A medida que comparten celda, Molina le cuenta a Valentín las tramas de películas llenas de mujeres misteriosas que entregan su corazón al hombre equivocado. La confrontación entre los dos protagonistas lleva a una profunda transformación interior. Esta novela es considerada una obra imprescindible de la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea, destacando por sus innovadores procedimientos narrativos.

Among his best-known novels are La traición de Rita Hayworth, Boquitas pintadas, and El beso de la mujer araña which was adapted into the film released in 1985, directed by the Argentine-Brazilian director Héctor Babenco; and a Broadway musical in 1993.
