«El bosque originario: genealogías míticas de los pueblos de Europa» is the historical essay by Jon Juaristi, in paperback, published by Punto de Lectura.
The essay traces the mythical genealogies through which European peoples have explained their origins, from archaic Greece to World War II. Juaristi shows how genealogical relation sustained national identities, united by a logic of exclusion: the exaltation of one's own against the foreign.
First published on November 29, 2001; Spanish edition of 480 pages. ISBN 9788466304184.
For those interested in European history, political mythology, and the construction of national identities.
