El búfalo de la noche es una novela del escritor mexicano Guillermo Arriaga, publicada en 1999. La historia sigue a Gregorio, un adolescente sensible que decide quitarse la vida, desencadenando desesperación en Tania, su ex novia, y Manuel, su mejor amigo. Ambientada en la Ciudad de México, la novela explora temas de celos, culpa y traición mientras los personajes luchan contra el nihilismo y el fantasma de Gregorio los empuja al abismo. Arriaga explora la geografía emocional y sentimental de los adolescentes actuales, utilizando su lenguaje y habitando su espacio.
