«El caballero de Olmedo» is the classic drama by Félix Lope de Vega, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in paperback (184 pages, in Spanish).
The work interweaves history, legend and literature from an ancient event on the road from Medina del Campo to Olmedo, turned into a popular ballad. On that basis, Lope de Vega builds a tragic intrigue of love and jealousy, with fate marking the characters and an intense lyrical emotion.
The work is number 17 in the CLÁSICOS - Biblioteca Didáctica Anaya collection; ninth edition with introduction and notes by Ignacio Sáez Jiménez and illustrations by Lluis Jover Comas.
Recommended for young readers and literature students from age 14, and for anyone who wants to approach classic Spanish theater.
Dramaturgo y poeta español del Siglo de Oro, autor de Fuente Ovejuna, El caballero de Olmedo y El perro del hortelano.
