«El caballero de Olmedo» is Lope de Vega's drama in the didactic edition by Fortuny Giné, López Robles and Martí Raüll, published by Teide.
Lope de Vega starts from a popular couplet announcing the death of a knight, «la gala de Medina, la flor de Olmedo», and builds a drama where love, envy and jealousy drive the characters towards a tragic outcome. The play combines lyricism and melancholy and retains the freshness of the great classics.
No. 50 in the Biblioteca Teide collection. Paperback, 192 pages, Spanish. Includes introductory study, notes and reading guide, with illustrations by Raúl Allén.
For high school students, especially of Spanish Language and Literature, and for readers who want to approach classical theater with didactic support.
