«El caballero negro» is a children's book by Rocío Antón and Lola Núñez, published by Ediciones SM in hardcover (30 pages, in Spanish).
In a medieval village, a knights' tournament celebrates the arrival of the new king. When a villain tries to attack the monarch, the enigmatic black knight intervenes to save his life. Some words in the story have been replaced by drawings, so the reader must complete the reading by identifying each illustration.
Published in 2002 within the collection «Lecturas pictográficas», with illustrations by Rocío Martínez Pérez. Recommended reading age: 3 to 6 years.
For early readers who are beginning to recognize words: the drawings invite participation in the narrative and reinforce basic vocabulary.
