«El Campo» is the children's and young adult work by María Rius and Josep M. Parramón, published by Círculo de Lecturas in paperback (30 pages, in Spanish).
Illustrated book that presents the countryside to early readers: two children walk through a rural landscape with a vegetable garden and trees, with a basket of eggs and a cart of vegetables. The text, very brief and simple, is suitable for beginning to read in Spanish. It is part of a series of books describing places such as the city, the mountains and the sea.
The work was originally published in 1986; the 2000 edition includes color illustrations by María Rius.
Suitable for early readers in nursery and primary education, especially for those beginning to read in Spanish.

Maria Rius was a Catalan prisoner support activist and anarchist militant. She organised numerous prison escapes during the time of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. After the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, she stormed a women's prison in Barcelona and agitated for amnesty for political prisoners. She fought on the Aragon front during the Spanish Civil War, before fleeing into exile in France.
