«El cantar de los nibelungos» is an anonymous medieval epic, published in 1985 (348 pages, in Spanish).
An epic poem composed in Middle High German around 1200, it recounts the exploits of Siegfried, who obtains a treasure and a protection that makes him almost invulnerable, and the hero's marriage to Kriemhild, princess of the Burgundians. The ambitions and quarrels of the court unleash betrayals and wars that end with the destruction of the Nibelungs.
