Medieval epic poem that narrates the deeds of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the Cid, exiled by King Alfonso VI, and his struggle to regain his honor through conquests and military feats. In its three cantos it combines battles, family episodes and courtly intrigues, with values such as loyalty, fidelity and bravery.
