«El chico de la última fila» is the play by Juan Mayorga, published by Ediciones La Uña Rota in paperback (132 pages, in Spanish).
Claudio, a seventeen-year-old student who goes unnoticed in the back row and only excels in Mathematics. When his Language and Literature teacher, Germán, assigns an essay, Claudio begins to observe and write about the lives of others in a serialized story for a single reader. That game between student and teacher blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction.
Premiered in 2006, it was adapted into a movie by François Ozon as In the House. This edition includes an essay by Carlos Thiebaut and belongs to the Libros Robados collection, number 29.
For readers aged sixteen and over interested in contemporary Spanish theater and in the relationships between literature, education and life.
