«El clan del oso de las cavernas» is the novel by Jean M. Auel published by Maeva in paperback (552 pages, in Catalan).
In the midst of the Ice Age, when Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons share the earth, a Cro-Magnon girl named Ayla is orphaned and adopted by a Neanderthal clan. She learns their traditions and way of life, but her curiosity and her hunting ability, which the clan reserves for men, make her an increasingly conflictive presence.
It is the first installment of the series «Els fills de la terra» (The Children of the Earth); the title of this Catalan edition is «El clan de l'ós de les cavernes».
