«El club dels perfectes» is the humor and satire novel by Carles Porta, published in 2012 by Edicions La Campana in paperback (144 pages, in Catalan).
In the first person, the book narrates the week of an uncle and his nephew in a spa hotel on the Costa Brava, where they fast and follow a strict aesthetic discipline. Between baths, massages and runs, they meet other guests who aspire to join the coveted «club dels perfectes»; Carles Porta thus portrays the growing fad for physical perfection.
It won the Premi Pere Quart d'Humor i Sàtira and is number 40 in the Humor i Sàtira collection from Edicions La Campana.
It is a light and fun read for those who want to enjoy humor in Catalan and for followers of Carles Porta.
