«El consol» is the contemporary novel by Anna Gavalda, published by labutxaca in paperback (552 pages, in Catalan).
Charles Balanda, a forty-seven-year-old architect, leads a comfortable life that many would envy. The death of Anouk, a former love, unsettles him: he loses sleep and appetite, and his projects no longer interest him. The memory of Anouk and the encounter with Kate will give him the strength to make a radical change.
