The Rutka's Notebook is a diary written by Rutka Laskier, a young Polish Jewish girl, in 1943, at the age of 14, during the Nazi occupation in the Jewish neighborhood of Bedzin. This shocking document offers a unique perspective on the daily life of a teenager amidst the horror of war, her fears, her loves, and the terrible living conditions in the ghetto. Rutka, aware of the horrors of the gas chambers and concentration camps, left this testimony for hope, a reflection of the human capacity to face atrocity without losing dignity or hope for a better future.
