El cuerpo del alma es una novela del escritor húngaro Lajos Zilahy, publicada en español como parte de la colección Grandes Novelistas Mundiales. Esta edición incluye también la novela Primavera mortal. La obra se caracteriza por su naturalismo tardío y se basa en experiencias biográficas del autor, narrando la vida de una pareja de jóvenes desde sus primeros encuentros en la sociedad de Buda hasta el estallido de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Primavera mortal, publicada en 1922, consolidó la fama de Zilahy, relatando el drama de un joven aristócrata provincial y su frustrado noviazgo, que lo lleva a la desesperación del juego y la bebida, hasta ser salvado por otra mujer.

Lajos Zilahy
Lajos Zilahy was a Hungarian novelist and playwright. Born in Nagyszalonta, Austria-Hungary, he studied law at the University of Budapest before serving in the Austro-Hungarian army during the First World War, in which he was wounded on the Eastern Front – an experience which later informed his bestselling novel Two Prisoners.
