«El descontento» is the contemporary novel by Beatriz Serrano, published by Ediciones Temas de Hoy in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Marisa hates her job at an advertising agency, but she can't leave it because she likes beautiful things. She numbs herself with orfidals and YouTube videos. A team building event triggers her anxiety and unearths a past tragedy, while her social mask cracks. A satire of workplace discontent, loneliness, and the need for connection.
First novel by Beatriz Serrano, published in 2023. The author is a presenter and co-director of the podcast Arsénico Caviar, awarded the Ondas Globales del Podcast Prize.
For readers of contemporary fiction and humor who want a satire on workplace malaise and being in your thirties.
