«El desgel» is the novel by Lize Spit published by Amsterdam in paperback (496 pages, in Catalan).
Eva, Pim and Laurens, the only kids from Bovenmeer born in 1988, spend their fourteenth summer between strangeness and boredom. Their bodies change and so does their gaze, while the complicity between them turns into a nightmare and loyalty gives way to betrayal. Years later, Eva returns to the village with a trunk full of ice and a plan for revenge, determined to make her own decisions.
Translated from the Dutch by Maria Rosich Andreu. Winner of the 2017 Nederlandse Boekhandelsprijs.
