«El detective moribundo» is the crime novel by Leif GW Persson, published by Grijalbo in paperback (464 pages, in Spanish).
Lars Martin Johansson, former head of the Swedish police, suffers a stroke when he should be enjoying retirement. In the hospital he learns of an unsolved murder of a girl from twenty-five years ago, now time-barred; the doctor gives him information that never reached the police. Although reopening it legally is impossible, Johansson decides to investigate on his own and, from his bed, mobilizes family and friends in a search full of humor and irony.
The work belongs to the «Jarnebring & Johansson» series, of which it is the eighth installment.
Recommended for readers of Nordic crime fiction who value slow-burn investigations and charismatic protagonists.
