«El dimoni dels nombres» is the young adult novel by Hans Magnus Enzensberger, published by Barcanova in paperback (259 pages, in Catalan).
Young Robert hates mathematics, but a little devil appears to him in dreams and, over twelve nights, shows him its fascinating side: series and number systems, numerical curiosities, geometry and combinatorics. Numbers come to life and Robert discovers that mathematics can be as absorbing as magic.
The work belongs to the Les Tres Edats collection, with illustrations by Rotraut Susanne Berner and Catalan translation by Maite Alcántara; its original title is «Der Zahlenteufel».
Aimed at readers from 8 to 88 years old, especially those who are afraid of mathematics and want to discover it in a playful way.
