In 'The Double', Dostoyevsky explores the psychological torture of a man, Goliadkin, after being humiliated and expelled from a dinner. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets an individual identical to him, but with an opposite personality: confident, cheerful, and surrounded by friends. This double infiltrates Goliadkin's life, subjecting him to psychological torment that is reflected in his inner monologues as he tries to understand what is happening. This edition from Alianza Editorial, part of the 'El Libro De Bolsillo - Literatura' series, offers a translation by Juan López-Morillas and consists of 195 pages.
