«El dragó del Patriarca» is the young adult novel by Josep Franco Martínez, published by Bromera in paperback (64 pages, in Catalan).
A dragon terrorizes Valencia and its farmland: it raids hen houses, burns fields, dries up wells, and devours people. The city offers a reward to whoever kills the beast, but all the knights fail. When no one dares anymore, a prisoner condemned in the dungeons of the Serrans towers sees in that unequal fight his only chance to save himself.
It belongs to the collection «Llegir en Valencià» and opens the series «Llegendes valencianes», of which it is number 1.
Recommended for young readers and for those starting to read in Valencian, within a reading-promotion collection.
