«El Evangelio según el Hijo» is the novel by Norman Mailer, published by Quinteto in paperback (202 pages, in Spanish).
It recreates the life of Jesus of Nazareth told from his own voice: a human Jesus, with doubts, desires and a sense of humor, far from the sacred image. Mailer presents him overwhelmed by the mission he must assume and turns the story into a literary approach to one of humanity's great sacred myths, inviting readers to rethink faith and divinity.
It is part of the Quinteto Bolsillo collection. The original text is in Spanish and the edition was published in 2005.
For readers of contemporary and literary fiction interested in reinterpretations of the gospels.
Nachem Malech Mailer, known by his pen name Norman Kingsley Mailer, was an American writer, journalist, and filmmaker. In a career spanning more than six decades, Mailer had 11 best-selling books, at least one in each of the seven decades after World War II.
