«El foraster del Congost» is the historical memory novel by Gabriel Martínez i Surinyac, published by UAB as a paperback (230 pages, in Catalan).
In August 1992, right after the Barcelona Olympics, two journalists investigate the discovery of a mass grave in the Montsec range. What starts as a search for historical memory becomes a personal journey: in three days they are caught up in a story of love and death in a rural setting.
XXIII Premi de Novel·la «Valldaura-Memorial Pere Calders» 2017. Closes the trilogy with 'Viatge a la batalla de l'Ebre' and 'L'estrany cas del guionista que va matar el director amb un colt 45'.
Will appeal to readers of investigative novels and historical memory with a rural backdrop.
