«El hotel» is the children's and young adult novel by Mónica Rodríguez Suárez, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (152 pages, in Spanish).
The narrator recalls her childhood at her grandfather's hotel, where her uncles and some peculiar tenants also lived, each with their own imaginary world. Amid travels, songs, loves and comic situations, the family faces the threat of losing that place and, with it, the essential: the capacity to dream.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Roja collection (number 230). Finalist novel for the 2016 El Barco de Vapor Prize. It features illustrations by Paula Blumen.
Recommended for readers aged 10 to 14 looking for family stories with humor, imagination and endearing characters.
