«El huerto de Emerson» is the memoir novel by Luis Landero, published by Tusquets Editores S.A. in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Landero interweaves his memories —childhood in an Extremaduran village, adolescence in Madrid and early jobs— with stories lived in books. Characters such as Pache, the grandmother, Florentino and Cipriana coexist with the heroes of Ulysses and the novels of Kafka and Stendhal, in a reflection on writing and creation with humor and poetry.
Published in 2021, it is part of the Andanzas collection and continues the universe of memory and reading that Landero opened in El balcón en invierno.
For readers of contemporary Spanish literature and of intimate and memorialistic narratives.
