«El ingenioso hidalgo» is the historical novel by Álvaro Bermejo, published by Algaida Editores in paperback (576 pages, in Spanish).
It starts from an idea: the burial of the Count of Orgaz could be that of Don Quixote. In the Toledo of the autos-da-fé, El Greco recalls his encounter with Cervantes and a heretical brotherhood. From that friendship spring dreamer knights, impossible loves and a two-sided truth, between the real and the visionary.
First edition by Algaida (Grupo Anaya), published on February 18, 2016 in the Algaida Literaria - Algaida Narrativa collection.
For readers of historical fiction interested in the enigmas surrounding Don Quixote, El Greco and Cervantes.
