«El jardín de los Finzi-Contini» is the novel by Italian writer Giorgio Bassani, published by Seix Barral in paperback (254 pages, in Spanish).
The protagonist recalls his youth in Ferrara in the 1930s and his relationship with the Finzi-Contini, a family of the high Jewish bourgeoisie secluded in their villa with garden. The protagonist's unrequited love for Micòl, the youngest daughter, and the advance of fascism pervade a nostalgic tale about the disappearance of a world.
Third volume of the series «La novela de Ferrara». Translated from the Italian by Juan Petit. It won the Viareggio Prize in 1962.
