«El ladrón de mentiras» is the children's novel by Roberto Santiago, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
Fernando, a ten-year-old boy, cannot stop lying even though it makes him feel bad, and his inventions keep getting him into trouble. The story shows how his lies endanger his friendship with Fátima and pit him against Gamboa, the fearsome school bully. A tale that invites reflection on whether truth or lies matter most, and that affirms that what truly matters is people.
Part of the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection, number 99. Includes illustrations by Tesa González García.
Recommended for children aged 8 to 12, especially for readers beginning to tackle longer chapters and wanting to reflect on sincerity and the consequences of lies.
