«El lector por horas» is the play by José Sanchis Sinisterra, published by Proa in 1999 in paperback (168 pages, in Catalan).
Celso hires Ismael to read aloud texts from the universal literary repertoire to his daughter Lorena, who has lost her sight. The assignment demands absolute neutrality from the reader, but the poetic force of the texts and their coexistence drag all three into an emotional labyrinth.
The edition is part of the PROA-TNC collection, linked to the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, and is the first edition, published in Barcelona.
Work aimed at a general audience, with special appeal for readers of theater and Catalan literature.
José Sanchis Sinisterra is a Spanish playwright and theatre director. He was born in Valencia. He is best known, outside of Spain, for his award-winning play, ¡Ay Carmela!.
