«El libro de los amores ridículos» is a collection of short stories by Milan Kundera, published by RBA Editores in 1994 in paperback, 256 pages, in Spanish.
Written between 1959 and 1968, the stories in the volume show hedonistic characters seeking in friendship, love and sex an escape from the severe and hermetic world around them. Kundera combines reflection and humor to portray everyday contradictions where apparent lightness hides a more serious depth.
The Czech original is titled 'Směšné lásky'; the translation is by Fernando de Valenzuela and the edition belongs to RBA's 'Narrativa actual' collection, number 6.
For readers of short fiction who appreciate reflective humor and twentieth-century Czech literature.

Milan Kundera was a Czech and French novelist. Kundera went into exile in France in 1975, acquiring citizenship in 1981. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked in 1979, but he was granted Czech citizenship in 2019.
