«El libro negro de los templarios» is the historical essay by Laurent de Vargas, published by Ediciones Robinbook in paperback (320 pages, in Spanish).
The author reconstructs the origins of the Order of the Temple from the scarce data on its founders and the surviving variants of its rules. He relates the order to the protagonists of history and to its presence in Spain, and suggests a connection between the order and the current Spanish royal family.
The book belongs to the Grandes Enigmas collection, was published in June 2006, and is a translation by Juana Bignozzi of the French original 'Histoire mysterieuse des templiers'.
A book for the general public interested in the history of the Temple and in theories about the order's links with the Spanish monarchy.
